BOSE® noise-canceling headsets for pilot performance and comfort
PMV Engineering has now certified Bose®A30 boomset (TSO-C139a) in replacement of Bose®A20 out of production or any other legacy boomset.
In short, the Bose® A30 boomset is a communication headset with Active Noise Canceling (ANC) electronics. It accurately reproduces all communication signals provided by radios and intercoms while simultaneously attenuating ambient acoustic noise using passive techniques combined with active electronic control circuitry.
Indeed, certification process included a torough verification that the use of Bose® A30 headset does not attenuate any aural warnings or sounds necessary for alerting the flight crew on matters related to the safe operation of the aeroplane. Absence of negative impact on CVR recording has also been assessed.
When ANC capability is not yet implemented in the aircraft, the cockpit jack panels are modified to receive +28VDC on XLR5 plug.
This modification is already avalaible on various aircraft platforms: ATR, A330, A300-600.
