The EASA approved solution for using iPad 11” as EFB device

PMV Engineering (EASA.21J.487) is the holder of the EASA STC No. 10087666 for the approval of the installation of two (2) cfMount™ with Tablet Cradle “iPad Universal 2” on the cockpit sliding windows (both sides, Captain and F/O) of A300/A310/A300-600 type aircraft

solution for using iPad 11” as EFB device

First, the function of each cradle is to hold a computer tablet (mainly iPad up to 11” size screen) that can be used as an EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) by the flight crew members during the different phases of the flight.

Another important point about this aircraft modification is: it was demonstrated by PMV Engineering during the certification working phase in laboratory that the “iPad Universal” cradle is compliant with the Special Condition No. 4 included in the EASA CRI “Mitigation of flight deck fires originating from lithium batteries that are not part of the aircraft design”.
Of course, this demonstration remains true whatever the aircraft type cockpit in which this iPad holder device is installed.

Therefore, this STC can be easily duplicated by PMV Engineering for other aircraft types (e.g., Airbus Single Aisle, Long Range, etc.).

So, should you be looking for an STC solution, EASA approved, for the easy installation and use of iPad holders on board your aircraft, feel free to contact us for further information and quote.
